2017 Minim ‘Yandoit’ Shiraz - Grown in newer volcanic soils over ancient marine sediment in the Yandoit Hills by Peter Fyffe, this expression captures the essence of this site through the lens of the cooler 2017 vintage; dry and savoury, medium bodied with generous purple fruit and black olives. Classic Central Victorian Shiraz. Destemmed fruit, macerated on skins for 3 weeks, pressed off an aged on solids in seasoned hogs heads. Barrel aged for 10 months. Bottle aged for 12 months.
2019 Bobar Viognier - Gentle, fresh and waxy, green apples, yellow peach and a twist of funk. This is agile and lithe for a Viognier, with enough texture and weight to rock out with your roast chicken, enough zest for a quiet glass on the couch. Picked early, a touch of skin contact before natural ferment in old 500L puncheons, it clocks in at only 10% alcohol - bonza.
2018 Ephemera Pinot Noir - Sourced from the Yarraloch vineyard in Gruyere, farmed to biological principles. Clay loam on ironstone/siltstone. North east facing on an incredibly steep slope. 50% whole bunch with no pumping or plunging, 2.5 week maceration, 6 months in puncheon. Smells like a fir tree tastes like a strawberry tart.
2018 Dirty Black Denim Heathcote Carmenere - Sourced from the Humis Vineyard in Colbo. 2 weeks maceration without stems. Aged in a combination of puncheon, hogshead and barrique barrels for 2 years on light lees. Bits of s02 throughout its life.
2019 NEW Little Reddie - Rusty red soil and northern Italian varieties from Willoughby Bridge vineyard and Chalmers vineyard. Combination of whole berry and rose ferments. Blended to stainless. Spicy, light, bright and wonderfully sweet fruited. A little spritz on opening, decant if you' like. Guzzle regardless.
2019 Jordy Kay Riesling - The Seymour vineyard we lease is 50 years old and sits at 150m above sea level on alluvium sand. Farmed organically for over 5 years now. Low level alcohol but with such intense flavours. Picked when the grapes tasted less citrus and more like stone fruits. Fermented at very cool temperatures and aged in a stainless steel tank. Bottled with nothing added.
