2017 Minim 'Metcalfe' Shiraz - How good is Shiraz grown on granite? It's like coffee and cigarettes or sex and candy. This wine comes from the Colliban valley on the edges of Harcourt, grown on granite and clay soils. Tight acidy that gives refreshment to powerful, ripe, black fruits. Olive tapenade and chewy tannin wraps it up into a neat ball, but this is a seriously thought provoking, medium weight red that gives a big nod to the Central Victorian wines of yore
2019 Bobar Chardonnay - "A distinct expression of Yarra Valley Chardonnay; tasty, powerful, rich, restrained and full of minerality, all at once. Farmed on the Nenagh Park vineyard, below the steepest part of the Christmas Hills. A delicious combo of mature vines, full exposure to the east, protection from the west & north and rich grey loam soils allow the development of power and richness with poise and finesse" - Tom 'Lord Tennyson' Belford
2019 Ephemera Negroamaro Rose' - From the rolling red hills of Colbinabbin (Northern Heathcote). Grown organically by the Chalmers clan. This is light and vibrant but with a savoury edge. Olive brine, dried herbs and raspberries. A dirty martini in rose' clothes.
2018 Dirty Black Denim Sauvignon Blanc - Grown by Galli Estate in picturesque Plumpton. The wine spends a small time on skins before being fermented and aged in old barrels. Its rich and textured with a saline kick and plenty of acidity. Plenty of guava, lychee, lime and all the juicy fruits. Best drunk from a mug or tumbler.
2019 Le Timbre 'Fleur Tropicale' - A multi-regional blend of Riesling (Whitlands), Pinot Noir (Sunbury) and Cabernet Sauvignon (Macedon).
